Communicating Change

This topic doesn’t aim to teach you when to change, neither does it try to teach you how to change; it doesn’t want to address what to change or even to answer the question why you might need to change.

What it does try to address is when and how you might want to communicate change. It explains why you need to communicate about that change and also who you need to communicate with. (‘With’ being important because, after all, communication is a two-way event.)


In a study of 89 big change programmes, employee communication explained 28 per cent of the variance in change success.

This means that between a quarter and a third of the reasons for success or failure is based on how you communicate with your people.
